Madeline Edwards – Why I’m Calling (Official Audio)

Listen to the official audio for Madeline Edwards’ song, “Why I’m Calling.”

Lyrics:

Dishwasher broke today
But that ain’t the only thing broken
The bed ain’t made
There’s bills to pay
And I’m fighting with my husband

I know you’ll
Let me complain
And listen With no judgment
And I’ll feel better
Talking bout the weather
And family down in Houston

You don’t even know
That I picked up phone

To hear those wind chimes on the porch
Singing with a whippoorwill
Your cedar swinging sipping your
2nd cup of chamomile
To feel you smiling through the line
All the while we’re talking
Might have a 30 minute drive
But that ain’t why I’m calling

By the time I get to where
I’m going it’ll feel like I was
Sitting next to you in a wicker chair
While I was here and you were there
It’s like I went back home
Just picking up the phone

To hear those wind chimes on the porch
Singing with a whippoorwill
Your cedar swinging sipping your
2nd cup of chamomile
To feel you smiling through the line
All the while we’re talking
Might have a 30 minute drive
But that ain’t why I’m calling

I’m calling
I’m calling

To hear someone knows me so well
I don’t have to explain myself
To talk about anything
It means everything

To hear those wind chimes on the porch
Singing with a whippoorwill
Your cedar swinging sipping your
2nd cup of chamomile
To feel you smiling through the line
All the while we’re talking
Might have a 30 minute drive
But that ain’t why I’m calling

To hear those wind chimes on the porch
Singing with a whippoorwill
You cedar swinging sipping your
2nd cup of chamomile
To feel you smiling through the line
All the while we’re talking
Might have a 30 minute drive
But that ain’t why
I had to hear your voice and I hope you don’t mind
I’m just calling
