"Town Clown" (Lyrics)
Lately I'm not feeling like I used to
I'm hearing different stories every day
I used to be someone people believed in
But now they just laugh and turn the other way

[Chorus:]
And just when you, just when you
Think you've found a friend in this town
Somebody goes and spreads it around
And you're the town clown

I couldn't stand the thought of you cheating
I'd like to think that I could never tell
It turns out you were down on Lower Broadway
It turns out it was someone I knew well

And just when you, just when you
Think you know a man so well
It turns out he's fooling around
And you're the town clown

[Chorus]

And just when you, just when you
Think you know a man so well
That no good's fooling around
And you're the town clown

You're the town clown
You're the town clown

With four critically-acclaimed albums under her belt, Kelsey Waldon has forged a strong presence in the Country and Americana scene. Her uncut lyricism and natural country sensibility recall her upbringing in Monkey's Eyebrow, Kentucky. After moving to Nashville, she cultivated a loyal following through frequent touring across the U.S. and two critically acclaimed albums. Her persistence paid off when, on stage at the Grand Ole Opry, John Prine invited Kelsey to join his Oh Boy Records family. In 2019, Kelsey released White Noise / White Lines on Prine's Oh Boy Records. An unflinching work that details Waldon's life, hopes, and pains, the album earned her a nomination for the Emerging Act of the Year Award at the 2020 Americana Awards.
