Let's Pretend (Lyrics)
Let's pretend we're somewhere far away
Where nothing bothers us except for today
We're gonna do the things we want to do
We're gonna have some fun and like it, too

[Chorus:]
There's only one of you and one of me
We can only be who we're meant to be
Sometimes we do things we're not proud of
But honey, we know how to get out of

Let's pretend we didn't know what it means
To say those hurtful words and spiteful things
They never do any good for me or you
But take away what we've been living to

[Chorus]

It's a crazy dream sometimes this life we live
It's hard to see what's to become of it
Sometimes we do things we're not proud of
But honey, we know how to get out of

Sometimes we do things we're not proud of
But honey, we know how to get out of

With four critically-acclaimed albums under her belt, Kelsey Waldon has forged a strong presence in the Country and Americana scene. Her uncut lyricism and natural country sensibility recall her upbringing in Monkey's Eyebrow, Kentucky. After moving to Nashville, she cultivated a loyal following through frequent touring across the U.S. and two critically acclaimed albums. Her persistence paid off when, on stage at the Grand Ole Opry, John Prine invited Kelsey to join his Oh Boy Records family. In 2019, Kelsey released White Noise / White Lines on Prine's Oh Boy Records. An unflinching work that details Waldon's life, hopes, and pains, the album earned her a nomination for the Emerging Act of the Year Award at the 2020 Americana Awards.
