Kassi Ashton – Because I’m A Women (Dolly Parton cover) #shorts #dollyparton #cover #countrymusic

I can’t sing “everybody’s welcome y’all just gotta act right” in the country music that I make without thinking of Dolly.
I can’t speak of rebellious women or owning your sexuality as a woman in country music without thinking of Dolly.
I cannot dare to dream of being ahead of my time in my lyrics and in my actions without thinking of Dolly.
I can’t speak on being fully authentic, owning who you are at every turn, and putting your money where your mouth is without thinking of Dolly.
I can’t write songs at my kitchen table with long acrylic finger nails or make a country music Mount Rushmore without thinking of Dolly.
Everywhere you look, everything you hear, in all the best parts of country music and beyond, you will find @dollyparton.
She has not left, she is not gone. She is with us forever, golden and glowing. Rest in peace to the most iconic Backwoods Barbie there ever was.

“Because I’m A Woman”.
