Look who picked up his guitar for the first time in a year… my old friend Joe Allen, playing and singing his own classic ‘Pick the Wildwood Flower.’ I knew this song long before I knew Joe, and it’s always been a favorite of mine. I was so excited when we connected those dots during one of our first conversations 9 years ago.

Joe is one of the finest musicians and songwriters ever and has written so many cherished songs that live on forever—hits for Gene Watson, Johnny Cash, Glen Campbell, Barbara Mandrel, John Anderson and beyond. I’ve had the honor of writing with Joe and recording 3 of his songs. His guidance and mentorship have been invaluable. Hearing him play again warms my soul. Please keep him in your prayers.
