On the day before Tiananmen Square I took my first sip of air
Breathing in life now I exist
From the moment that I opened my eyes, I was under the guise
There's gotta be something more to this
Ordinary life

Ooh chase the rainbow, win the prize
Don't stop till you're recognized
Make a name out of a normal kid
You taste the fame and fantasize
That you already arrived
Make a name out of a normal kid

On the road in the middle of nowhere on a wing and a prayer
In a full car, proving to myself I'm a cool star
Stumble home and then I do it again, I keep trying to transcend
But I gotta admit that I have missed
Ordinary life

Ooh chase the rainbow, win the prize
Don't stop till you're recognized
Make a name out of a normal kid
You taste the fame and fantasize
That you already arrived
Make a name out of a normal kid

Proving to myself that I exist
There's gotta be something more to this
Ordinary life

Ooh chase the rainbow, win the prize
Don't stop till you're recognized
Make a name out of a normal kid
You taste the fame and fantasize
That you already arrived
Make a name out of a normal kid

Proving to myself that I exist
There's gotta be something more to this
Ordinary life
