TRACK 7: Long Haul
💚Fun Facts💚
The 1-4-5 that I sold my soul to is not a highway, it’s a chord progression, using the Nashville numbers system. I love that some people think it’s a highway — just deepens the metaphor of the song.
-This was the last song I wrote on my grandfather’s guitar before it was stolen out of my house during a break-in a few years back. Long story short, I magically got it back, but had made peace with it because this song seemed like a fitting last hurrah.
-The jangly-Jeff-Lynne guitar part on the bridge is one of my favorite moments on the whole record.
