Lyrics:
We were packing bug-out bags
When you told me you had had another
And it was bad
I kissed your cheek it's just a dream
I'll start the car
For rolling paper and two of those orange ice cream pops
You like a lot

The trees are burning by the soccer field
The trees are burning by the soccer field
The trees are burning by the soccer field
There's ashes in my rearview mirror

When the kitchen floor started to sink
I stood there frozen in heinous disbelief
I thought it was a dream I thought it was a dream
You cried, “Help me, it's the prophecy
Just because it wasn't real to you doesn't mean it's not real to me”
It's real to me
It's real to me
It's real to me
It's real to me

Then something that sounded like the voice of John Prine
Said all the good ones die
I kissed your hands and started to cry
I left you hanging there for dear life
I left you hanging there for dear life

The trees are burning by the soccer field
The trees are burning by the soccer field
The trees are burning by the soccer field
There will always be ashes in my rearview mirror
