Lyrics to "Angels or Los Angeles"

Just another girl packing up her suitcase
Just another girl trying to find a brand new place
She’s tired of waiting on something to happen
She’s getting the hell out in a Dodge

It’s like a line in someone else’s love song
Her life, like some cowboy’s cliche
She’s locking doors, leaving with the key
Making herself the one that got away

‘Cause you never know just what’ll save you
What will bring you to your knees
She’s putting her money on one of the two
God’s angels or Los Angeles

Twenty bucks won’t take you that far these days
Can’t hardly get across Texas on a tank
But she drives til the flatlands become mountains
Til the mountains become deserts again

Sees a roadside church with a front yard sign
It says “kindness is its own reward”
Sometimes you see the signs when you are looking
Sometimes you gotta go out and look for more

‘Cause you never know just what’ll save you
What will bring you to your knees
She’s putting her money on one of the two
God’s angels or Los Angeles

By the soft shoulders of a desert of highway
Her own fall down as she breathes deep and slow
There’s nothing like letting yourself get so lost
That you realize you’re someone that you know

Oh, you never know just what’ll save you
What will bring you to your knees
She’s putting her money on one of the two
God’s angels or Los Angeles
