"No Regular Dog" (Lyrics)
I ain’t no regular dog, more like a wolf on the kill
Howlin’ at and hidin’ in the shadows from
The clouds hanging over me
A prisoner of my mental cages
My own worst enemy
A product of the gamblin’ with the cards that’s dealt
A survivor of my dreams

But nothin’ worth doing don’t come without a price
Better saddle up, better hold on tight
It’s gonna be a long ride
Get a good look, make a few good moves
Let it go to your head and you’re a god damn fool
You better not think twice

Daddy loved his work, I guess I do too
Same old show, a different place, another person
Just grinnin’ in your face
Look what got me here, look at what I’ve become
Another highway, another song but don’t it all sound sweet
When we all sing along?

Nothin’ worth doing don’t come without a price
Better saddle up, better hold on tight
It’s gonna be a long ride
Get a good look, make a few good moves
Let it go to your head and you’re a god damn fool
You better not think twice

With four critically-acclaimed albums under her belt, Kelsey Waldon has forged a strong presence in the Country and Americana scene. Her uncut lyricism and natural country sensibility recall her upbringing in Monkey's Eyebrow, Kentucky. After moving to Nashville, she cultivated a loyal following through frequent touring across the U.S. and two critically acclaimed albums. Her persistence paid off when, on stage at the Grand Ole Opry, John Prine invited Kelsey to join his Oh Boy Records family. In 2019, Kelsey released White Noise / White Lines on Prine's Oh Boy Records. An unflinching work that details Waldon's life, hopes, and pains, the album earned her a nomination for the Emerging Act of the Year Award at the 2020 Americana Awards.
