Devon Gilfillian – Hold On (Hourglass) [Official Music Video]

Pre-save the new album, Time Will Tell, out June 26th: https://i.concordrecords.com/devongil…

“Hold On” is my psychedelic country western soul realization that I am holding on to a relationship that is no longer serving either of us. I imagined this song in Quentin Tarantino‘s Django Unchained when I wrote it, so we went to the desert to bring that vision to life.

In this age of AI, I wanted to make something raw, organic, with the cracks that expose the real shit. There’s pain in these songs, and it was hard to write some of them, but I’m glad I did, and I’m grateful for the love that made these songs happen. I’m excited for y’all to hear my version of Nashville Soul and come on this next journey with me. ⏳🖤🙌🏾

Lyrics:
Can’t stop running
But it’s catching up to us
And we can’t fight it off for long
Tell me something
Do you ever lie awake
Wondering where we went wrong

Hold on
Hold on
Am I holding on just to let you go?

High tide
The water is rising up
No one’s there to take this cup from me
Sand keeps falling
Down through this hourglass
Bleeding through the cracks that we can’t see

Hold on
Hold on
Am I holding on just to let you go?
Hold on
Hold on
Am I holding on just to let you go?
