LYRICS
My hometown’s a few short years
From burning down to the ground
So I drive for up an ice cream cone
from the soft serve joint before it’s all gone

I’ve been having a hard time this week
The smoke is so thick and the news is so bleak
and the richest in the history of man
Keep talking about space like it’s the promise land

While records break and waters rise
And we’re hunted by the hands of time
Cause

Wildfire seasons here again
Each year it’s harder to pretend that
We’ve been doing all we can
Each year it’s harder to pretend

When I was a child I learned the west was won
Not stolen from the rightful ones
And we mined it dry and broke the land
Portioned it off into postage stamps

It’s never been more clear
What as leaders we lack
And its way past time
To give some land back
Cause

Wildfire seasons here again
Each year it’s harder to pretend
We’ve been doing all we can
Each year we’re harder to defend

I’m just barely 23
Still got my life in front of me
In a few years I’ll be 29
And I am fucking terrified

Im not immune to positivity
But it’s dangerously close to complacency
And you’ll never miss your water till your well runs dry
And you’ve seen the ash falling from the sky

Cause

Wildfire seasons here again
Each year it’s harder to pretend
That we’ve been doing all we can
Each year we’re harder to defend

Wildfire seasons here again
Each year it’s harder to pretend
That we’ve been doing all we can
Each year we’re harder to defend
Each year its harder to pretend
Its just a season
